my adventure

there simply aren't enough words to describe what South Africa has done for my life. First things first: i will never be the same again. The people, places, and things of South Africa have changed the way i view the world and all who inhabit her. As if the natural wonders of South Africa aren't enough to send you into a euphoric state of mind, the people are equally as beautiful. Today for instance, i came across a man who put it simply by saying "What is colored? we are all brothers who bleed the same blood. There is only one race i know and that is the human race." Hearing those words from an Apartheid survivor truly inspired me to changed the biased attitude that comes with being an American. Just 15 short years after the ending of Apartheid in South Africa the streets are a melting pot of different colors and creeds coexisting not only peacefully, but lovingly. However, that is not to say that there is no darkness in South Africa. Corrupt governments, poor education, and the terrible life of those in townships has made me intensely appreciative of the safe and free life we live in America. My Journey thus far has been a short one filled with experiences i can only try to depict into words. South Africa is an amazing country that i can't wait to explore and capture.
